But how? With the incessant tugs of a busy work and home life, prioritizing ourselves and the growth of our practice can take a back seat to the demands of our curriculum. Join us and get inspired to "Make Space" for the growth of your school, your students and yourself.

Why Attend?  Well here are a few reasons from participants who attended the 2018 Leading Learning Conference:

2019 KEYNOTER & FEATURED SPEAKER

Andre Daughty, Teacher, Educational Consultant
Andre Daughty’s (pronounced dow-tee) educational journey began after hearing Dr. Jawanza Kunjufu state, “If you observe children, they will teach you how to teach them.” That phrase shifted his philosophy on how students learn. By observing students, he differentiated curriculum through rap, composing music, art, poetry and projects based on his students’ interests watching them soar to new heights. Using the same philosophy, he’s been able to provide meaningful experiences for students and educators in schools and conferences. Andre has been fortunate to speak to audiences across the nation sharing thoughtful and humorous stories about how all students can truly learn. His workshops develop authentic high-quality professional development through building culture while keeping it real. He enjoys inspiring tomorrow’s leaders today!

You can't do it all. And you don't have to try.  There are too many things competing for your attention as a teacher.
The solution is NOT to manage your time better or work more efficiently.

Or at least -- that's not the place to start.

The most important step is getting clarity, and figuring out how to use your life to make an impact in ways that really matter. This book will help you strengthen the courage to do fewer things, so what remains can be done even better.

WHAT IS THE FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS?

The excitement is high for the FOURTH Annual Student Festival of the Arts at St. Anne's-Belfield School in Charlottesville, VA on November 15. What a fabulous opportunity for students in grades 8-12 from member schools to come together and share their love for the arts! Students can participate in creative workshops meant to stimulate new ideas and offer innovative techniques. The Festival is designed for students in grades 8-12 who have an interest or passion for the arts. Workshops cover a wide array of topics, and we welcome students who enjoy all mediums from band and chorus to creative writing and dance to painting and sculpture.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION:
Each school is invited to bring up to 6 students. There is a maximum number of students that can participate based on workshop space. All students are required to have a chaperone from their school
at the Festival at all times.

A note about the workshops: This year we have more space in music focused workshops (mostly instrumental) than in the visual arts workshops. When deciding which students to bring to the Festival, I would encourage chaperones to look at the workshop list to make sure your students will get the most out of the day. Workshops fill on a first come first serve basis.

Please click here to register.
Deadline to Register EXTENDED to October 24
If we reach capacity for the event prior to October 24, registration will close at that time.

Schedule and Workshop Descriptions

Students will be able to select workshops after the school has registered for the event.
