Mission / Philosophy / Objectives:
We inspire young people of talent and promise to develop clear values, a desire for wisdom, and an appreciation for all endeavors which broaden the mind and enlighten the spirit.

Children are born with a natural sense of wonder, a fertile imagination and an eagerness to understand the world around them. At Green Hedges School, we cultivate those natural gifts through a comprehensive education that entices the curious mind and instills the desire to learn more. Our approach teaches children to think critically about enduring ideas and to develop a deep appreciation for nature, beauty and humanity. We encourage each child to strive for excellence and balance.

Our students grow into capable, confident, conscientious young adults. Green Hedges’ graduates are prepared to attend the most prestigious secondary schools, and we support parents in selecting the best school for their child. Green Hedges offers a unique learning environment where children are encouraged to be inquisitive, adventurous, and creative – and expected to be thoughtful and responsible. We offer young minds the opportunity to thrive and the room to grow.

At Green Hedges School, we seek to stimulate intellectual curiosity and lay the groundwork on which a life of continuous learning can be built. Our approach is to offer a comprehensive education that includes subjects and topics that are universal while remaining relevant and new to each succeeding generation. Children are given a strong foundation in reading, language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, foreign languages, technology, physical education, and fine and performing arts. We challenge students with high academic standards, while encouraging creativity and aesthetic sensitivity. Students examine moral and ethical themes. They are exposed to the complexities of the world around them and encouraged to observe, investigate and inquire.
