"Engaging learning environments are naturally joyful places. These are places where taking risks is encouraged and pursing personal interests is expected. I realize that engagement is often used to describe ideal learning, but I would argue that joy has perhaps a higher purpose and one that is an outcome of engaging learning. Engagement can be the catalyst, but joyful learning is the real goal." - Dean Shareski, Embracing a Culture of Joy
